Mission Statement

The primary purpose of the Kasper Foundation for Equine Art is to elevate the status of contemporary art depicting the Arabian horse to a level of respect and admiration throughout the art world at large. A secondary purpose of the Foundation is to encourage an appreciation of the historical influence of the horse in art, with particular emphasis on the Arabian horse as an inspiration to artists throughout the ages. The Foundation plans to achieve these goals by:

Funding education for equine artists whose existing body of work and / or creative potential are consistent with the purpose and intent of the Foundation. Such education will include a special emphasis on the traditional life study of the equine figure, and may consist of approved self-study; formal training at accredited universities, colleges, or art institutions; or mentorship by or apprenticeship to artists selected by the Foundation.

Sponsoring selected equine art programs, projects, research, presentations and exhibitions, with special emphasis on those which promote cultural exchange, international relations, and community education and involvement.

Establishment of a comprehensive, permanent art library of equine imagery and related subjects, with particular emphasis on the Arabian horse in art and history. This library is available by appointment to Foundation students, donors, and individuals interested in the purpose and goals of the Foundation.

Assisting equine artists in understanding the creative process and the special challenges of the creative mind, while developing the skills necessary to expand their talents, accomplish their artistic goals, and realize the importance of service in sharing their gifts.

Scholarship applications from individual applicants of any nationality and residence, and of any age, race, or creed will be equally eligible for consideration and selected based on criteria consistent with the purpose and intent of the Foundation.
