Announcing 2005 Scholarships and Award Opportunities The Kasper Foundation for Equine Art is pleased to announce the sponsorship of a workshop entitled "The Arabian Horse in Art - Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture" to be held July 8-13 at the Taos School of Equine Art, set in the creative center of the American Southwest, Taos, New Mexico. Founder Karen Kasper, along with Arabian horse historian Cynthia Culbertson and various guest instructors, will present a comprehensive overview of the Arabian horse in art and history. The class will also offer in-depth practical instruction in drawing, painting, and sculpting the Arabian horse, with a particular focus on the characteristics unique to the breed. The Kasper Foundation for Equine Art is also pleased to offer the following scholarship opportunities for 2005: 1) One full scholarship, known as The Henry and Christie Metz Scholarship, to an equine art workshop conducted by the American Academy of Equine Art (AAEA) to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. 2 ) One full scholarship to the equine art workshop entitled "The Arabian Horse in Art - Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture" to be held July 8-13 at the Taos School of Equine Art in Taos, New Mexico. Both of these full scholarships will consist of tuition, round-trip airfare or transportation expenses up to $600.00, hotel accommodations up to $375.00, and an additional $125 for expenses. Any expenses incurred above and beyond the total scholarship allotment are the sole responsibility of the applicant. Documentation of actual travel and hotel expenses are required, either for pre-payment by the Foundation, or for reimbursement of expenses after they occur. 3) One tuition-only scholarship to the equine art workshop entitled "The Arabian Horse in Art - Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture" to be held July 8-13 at the Taos School of Equine Art in Taos, New Mexico. 4) One tuition-only scholarship to an equine art workshop conducted by the American Academy of Equine Art to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Full tuition to these workshops will be paid by the Foundation. All additional expenses, including transportation and hotel, will be the sole responsibility of the recipient. The scholarship selection process will consider the applicant's (1) serious intent in the field of equine art, (2) artistic talent, (3) character. Scholarship applications from individuals of any nationality and residence, and of any age, sex, race, or creed will be equally eligible for consideration and selected based on criteria consistent with the purpose and intent of the Foundation. Please note that minors must have the approval of a parent or guardian before applying for a scholarship. Applicants will be selected by consensus of the Foundation Board of Directors, and will be notified within ten days of submission deadline of May 30, 2002.
